How to Pick a Size of a Mirror?

Mirrors come in various designs, sizes and shapes. As a decorative and functional element in interior design, mirrors have graced the walls and spaces of homes, hotels, offices and business establishments. 

There are many considerations when buying a mirror. Aside from the design of the frame, the size of a mirror is a big factor to think about. 

If you are looking to buy a a mirror to hang over the fireplace or a console table in the foyer, keep these tips in mind.

​Above a furniture

As a general rule, the mirror should be two-thirds the size of the furniture it is hanging over. For example, if you're hanging a mirror above a console table that is 48 inches long, the width of the mirror should be 32 inches.

​Bathroom mirror

Remember that the mirror in the bathroom should not be wider than the vanity. Measure first the countertop of your vanity. Choose a mirror that is 2-4 inches shorter than the width of the bathroom vanity.
